Inclusive Learning in the classroom
-Recognizing and responding to specific learning needs of individual or small groups of students
In the classroom, there will always exist a diverse range of learners and needs. It is important as a teacher to create an inclusive environment in the classroom to ensure those students feel welcome and not out of place.

In one of the courses I taught in my second practicum, I had a mute student as well as a student who was hard of hearing.

Creating an inclusive environment for these individuals meant that I always remembered to wear an FM system so that the student could hear me when I was speaking. For the other individual it meant reading notes they wrote down on their phone or a piece of paper or understanding their body language.

These were very minor differentiations that I had to make in order to include both these individuals in the classroom. I think the most important aspect for creating an inclusive learning environment is to embrace each individual and not letting their disabilities define them as individuals.
